Jim Smith

Jim Smith is a Senior Advisor at IPI. A veteran in the data center development & technology space, most recently he was an Advisor & Managing Director for Equinix, leading the Hyperscale Infrastructure Team. Jim also served in various leadership roles at Digital Realty Trust, including Chief Technology Officer.

Jim’s decades of experience span his roles as Chief Technical Officer at Colo.com, Founder and General Manager of ATMnet, which was acquired by Verio in 1997, and General Manager at 360networks.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Fort Lewis College and a Master of Business Administration degree from London Business School.
